A Brief History

The Ch’ien Clinic, Lincoln’s longest established acupuncture clinic, was situated at South Park for ever 20 years, treating patients from all over Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.

Since completing a 3 year BSc in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Lincoln, the proprietor Camille Bennett worked closely with the experienced acupuncturist and former owner Tony Brewer who revolutionised Acupuncture in Lincoln. Tony trained in the UK and also in China, he also practiced Physiotherapy and Chinese Herbal Medicine alongside Acupuncture. In Autumn 2011 Camille Became the proprietor of Ch’ien Clinic.

Camille gained her interest in Chinese Medicine through having treatment and also many hours observing Tony in practice. Initially Camille’s interests were in Physiotherapy, but this quickly changed as she realised the benefits of Acupuncture. Camille completed her degree and started work at Ch’ien Clinic in 2009, initially trading under the name Low Fields Acupuncture. Low Feilds Acupuncture provided acupuncture treatments at Welton Health Centre for 2 years.

Camille has always, and still regularly takes part in many different sports, mainly horse riding, skiing, cycling, running and motorbiking. So she understands many sport injuries and the importance of regaining health and fitness as quickly as possible. Camille continues the clinics speciality in Musculoskeletal Pain Management.

Due to her keen interest in sport, particularly riding and competing, and a continued willingness to learn, Camille found an interest in McTimoney Animal Manipulation. Studies have enabled Camille to extend her knowledge of mammalian physiology to masters standard. Albeit in studies being examined on horses and dogs, however, Camille firmly believes that by developing an understanding of ailments in animals it has further developed her sense of understanding for the human body alongside, improving everything from understanding muscular ailments to palpation and most importantly after care advice, rehab exercise and advice on the appropriate course of action.

Camille is not only required to complete continual practice development (CPD), to continue as a registered therapist, but she enjoys to further her knowledge and will continually add to her expertise.

Camille now works alongside the chiropractors Lex and Amanda at Lincs Chiro in Boston, Louth and Horncastle. Multiple therapies are offered, please follow the link here for more information on their locations and business.
